The source of most British health and safety law is the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. The Act sets out the general duties which employers have towards employees and members of the public, and employees have to themselves and to each other.

Details of how the Health and Safety at Work Act applies in specific situations are laid out in The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (the Regulations). CPQ works in partnership with its clients to help them comply with both the spirit and the letter of the law.
CPQ offers a range of First Aid courses to meet the needs of your business and help ensure you are complying with the law. The most appropriate solution will depend of the size and nature of your business. The options include:

. NUCO - 1 day First Aid Appointed Person Course (HSE Approved)
. NUCO - 2 day Refresher First Aid at Work Course (HSE Approved)
. NUCO - 4 day First Aid at Work Course (HSE Approved)

All courses can accommodate 8-10 candidates and can be conducted at CPQ's own training facility or at a suitable venue of your choice.
The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to enable first aid to be given to employees if they are injured or become ill at work.

These Regulations apply to all workplaces including those with five or fewer employees and to the self-employed. In many cases this will include the need for a qualified first aider or first aid appointed person (suitable for low risk environments).CPQ offers accredited first aid courses to meet these needs.
